Your cycle and health records stay on your phone. This page explains exactly what the app stores, what it shares, and the choices you have.
HerDay is a period, ovulation and pregnancy tracking app published by Jignesh Hadiya ("we", "us"). In this policy, "you" means the person using the app.
To work, the app keeps the following on your phone, in the app's private storage. It is created by you and used only by the app.
| Data | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Period start and end dates, cycle length, flow level | Predict your next period, fertile window and ovulation |
| Symptoms, mood, sleep and energy ratings, breast self-exam notes, free-text notes | Your daily log, history and insights |
| Intimacy entries (only if you turn this on in Settings) | Your private log. Hidden from the calendar, home screen, insights and exports unless you enable it |
| Goal (track, get pregnant, avoid pregnancy) | Choose what the home screen shows about fertility |
| Pregnancy mode and estimated delivery date | Show your pregnancy week and progress |
| Settings: language, theme, reminders, app lock | Remember your preferences |
This information stays on your device. It is not sent to us or to any third party, and the app has no accounts or cloud sync. The app turns off Android's automatic cloud backup for its data, so it is not copied into your Google backup either.
HerDay is free and supported by banner ads served by Google AdMob. To show ads, the AdMob software in the app connects to Google's servers and may collect:
AdMob does not receive anything you log in HerDay. Your cycle, symptom, mood, pregnancy and note data are never passed to it.
Google acts as the controller of the data it collects for advertising. How Google uses it is described in Google's Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| Notifications | Period, fertile-window and daily log reminders. Scheduled on your device. You can turn them off in Settings or Android settings. |
| Internet and network state | Only to load banner ads. |
| Biometrics / screen lock (optional) | Used through Android when you turn on App Lock. The app never receives your fingerprint, face data or PIN. Android only tells it whether the check passed. |
The app does not request access to your contacts, location, camera, microphone, photos or SMS.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share your health records with anyone. The only data leaving your device is the advertising data described in section 3, which goes to Google. We do not use analytics or crash-reporting services.
You can export your records as CSV, JSON or a PDF doctor summary, and create a backup file. These files are saved to a location you choose and are never uploaded by the app. Once saved, they are outside the app's control. Anyone with access to that file can read it, so store and share it carefully.
Because we hold none of your health data on our side, we cannot recover it for you if you erase it or lose your phone without a backup file. For ad-related data held by Google, use the controls in section 3.
Your data stays on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. We do not keep any copy.
Your records live in the app's private storage, which other apps cannot read on an unmodified Android device. You can add an App Lock (biometrics or device PIN) in Settings. No method of storage is perfectly secure, and you are responsible for keeping your device locked and updated.
HerDay is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has used the app, uninstalling it removes all data on the device.
Cycle, fertile-window, ovulation and pregnancy information in HerDay are estimates calculated from what you enter. They are not a diagnosis, are not a method of contraception, and must not replace advice from a doctor or midwife. Pregnancy chances shown for goals such as "avoid pregnancy" are statistical estimates and can be wrong, especially with irregular cycles.
Because your records are not transferred to us, the main cross-border transfer is the advertising data handled by Google, which may process it in countries outside your own. Google's own privacy terms apply to that processing.
If we change how the app handles data, for example by adding a new service, we will update this page and the effective date above, and show a notice in the app where the change affects you. Please check back occasionally.
